Staffordshire is an area that combines breathtaking views, fascinating heritage and glorious gardens - all are waiting to be explored on our new mini break.
Meet the coach at your local pick up point for a relaxing journey to National Memorial Arboretum. Discover over 400 memorials nestled amongst some 25,000 trees. Join a land train tour and hear the stories behind many of the fascinating memorials. Later, we rejoin the coach as we make our way to the hotel.
Today we visit Shugborough Estate. A Staffordshire treasure, the estate is home to a Georgian mansion, sweeping parkland and a working farm. Explore the stunning architecture of the mansion and discover the servants quarters below stairs. Then step outside and wander the vast grounds where you can see Europe’s widest yew tree, terraces and a lovely walled garden. There will be free time in Stoke before tonight’s dinner.
After checking out of the hotel we have a short drive to Trentham Gardens. The award winning gardens are a splendid sight with their striking features and the Italian Garden’s spectacular fountains will take your breath away. Make sure to visit the Monkey Forest, a sanctuary for endangered Barbary monkeys where the natural behaviours of the monkeys can be seen right in front of your very eyes.
The hotel is located in Stoke-on-Trent, close to the Cultural Quarter, home to The Regent Theatre, Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, and Potteries Shopping Centre.
