Bolton Museum & Aquarium

The Museum collection is full of exciting and fascinating objects from across the globe, from Japanese Samurai armour to South American butterflies; and Bolton's connection to Egypt is celebrated in our wonderful Ancient Egypt gallery displaying jewels, treasures, everyday objects and a 3,200 year old mummy.

You can visit the cool on site aquarium, which is home to an amazing range of freshwater fish from all over the world! Open since 1941, the aquarium is the only one of its kind in Greater Manchester and a must-see for all visitors.
