Royal Scotland

13 July 2025 - 7 Days - £825

Walk in the footsteps of royalty on our new tour to Scotland.
We include entry to several magnificent castles, including Balmoral and a visit to one of the finest coasts in the world!

Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup point, we take a journey north into Scotland with comfort stops along the way. We will be staying overnight in the Edinburgh/Glasgow region.

Day 2

Continuing north, we visit Glamis Castle. The Castle as we know it today was built from the 1400s and has been on a grand journey through Scottish history for over 600 years. Marvel at the splendour within the castle walls and immerse yourself in six centuries of stories. Glamis also has a deep connection to today’s Royal Family as it was the Scottish childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and birthplace of HRH Princess Margaret. Afterwards, we continue to Aberdeen where we stay for 4 nights.

Day 3

Today we visit Balmoral. The castle has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852. Our entry includes access to the formal and vegetable gardens, the wildlife and audio visual exhibitions together with a tour the largest room in the Castle, the Ballroom.
Please note, admittance to Balmoral is subject to members of the Royal Family not being in residence. Should the castle change their opening dates an alternative attraction will be included.

Day 4

Head to one of the finest coasts in the world! Beautiful, breathtaking and unforgettable are just some of the words used to describe the pretty harbour town of Stonehaven, famous for its Hogmanay fireballs ceremony. The Tolbooth Museum on the quayside has a fascinating history as a former courthouse and jail. This afternoon we visit Crathes Castle. Standing against a backdrop of rolling hills and set within its own glorious gardens, Crathes Castle is every inch the classic Scottish tower house. Explore this magnificent 16th-century castle, with its intricate maze of turrets, towers, oak panels and painted ceilings. Keep your eyes peeled when you step outside as you may spot roe deer, red squirrels, woodpeckers, buzzards and herons.

Day 5

Full day to explore the Granite City by the sea – Aberdeen. Scotland’s third largest city is compact with wide open spaces. Walk by the harbour, along the mile of beach and step back in time to Aberdeen’s Old Town, with its cobbled roads, Kings College and other historic buildings. Take time out to visit St Machar’s, the oldest of the city’s three cathedrals, which is arguably the oldest granite cathedral in the world.

Day 6

We check out of the hotel and make our way to the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. See one of the world's leading botanic gardens, home to one of the largest and richest plant collections on Earth. Discover the Garden’s fascinating history dating back over 350 years, learn about its plantings and walk around 70 acres of beautiful landscape. We include afternoon tea before commencing our journey to the Edinburgh/Glasgow area for our overnight stay.

Day 7

After a final Scottish breakfast we continue our return journey home with fond memories of our Royal Scotland adventure.
