Grand Lake District Turkey & Tinsel

Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup point, we make our way to the hotel arriving mid to late afternoon. After settling in, head to the Jacobean Lounge pre-dinner to enjoy a glass of chilled bubbly or sherry. The atmosphere of your stay is set with roaring log fire, decorations & Christmas tune playing. A three-course carvery dinner will be served in the Hazelwood Restaurant. Afterwards enjoy a evening of entertainment in the lounge.

Day 2

After a hearty English breakfast in the Hazlewood Restaurant, we board the coach and enjoy a scenic drive through the Lake District, travelling north via Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere– and finally onto Keswick. We spend time at leisure exploring this lovely market town with plenty of shops, restaurants and museums to browse. Late afternoon we travel back to the hotel to get refreshed before our 3 course evening meal followed by more entertainment in the Jacobean bar. Don't forget to head to reception for your jumbo quiz sheet (you have until Thursday to fill this in).

Day 3

Today we visit Kendal. The market town has intriguing streets, yards and ginnels making for a relaxing, high quality shopping experience with a mix of contemporary high street brands and characterful, local independent retailers. Late afternoon we travel back to the hotel to get ready for 'Christmas Dinner' served with the trimmings. Then unwind with tea/coffee & a warm mince pie before tonight's entertainment.

Day 4

After breakfast, don't forget to hand in your quiz form to reception (winner announced this evening!) before joining the coach for the day. We start at The World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction. See scenes from the famous stories brought to life in mesmerising displays, the most famous of all being The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Next, we have a cruise on Windermere, taking in magnificent scenery, then finishing the day at Lake’s freshwater Aquarium. Meet the UK’s largest collection of freshwater fish, watch the otters at play and walk under the lake while the ducks dive above you. We then return to the hotel to get ready for tonight's 3 course carvery dinner and see in the 'New Year' with their entertainer.

Day 5

After breakfast we check out of the hotel and say goodbye to the lakes as we retrace our journey home.
