Experience the stunning scenery and charming villages set around the Wye Valley region. On this new tour we take a rail journey through the Forest of Dean and cruise along the River Wye.
Morning departure from your local pickup point we make our way to Lichfield. Enjoy some time at leisure for sightseeing, shopping and lunch before continuing to the hotel.
We begin the day in Monmouth, a lovely Georgian market town in Wales well known for its iconic 13th century gatehouse bridge. In the afternoon we enjoy a relaxing cruise along the River Wye.
Our first stop of the day is Chepstow. The town is dominated by Britain’s oldest surviving post-Roman stone castle and is well worth a visit, or you may prefer a leisurely stroll through the town. From here we make a short journey to the Dean Forest Railway. Sit back and enjoy the nostalgic journey through the beautiful woodland and countryside whilst indulging in scones with clotted cream and jam and tea/coffee.
After breakfast we check out of the hotel, travel into the Cotswolds and the pretty market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. This is one of the best known Cotswolds towns with many fine antique shops, art galleries, gift and craft shops.
This hotel is nestled in the Forest of Dean near the market town of Coleford. All of the rooms are individually designed and offer in room amenities to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable such as free wi-fi, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Please note the hotel does not have a lift but ground floor rooms are available on request.
