The delightful resort of Weston-Super-Mare is the seaside at the heart of North Somerset and our destination for this new tour. We have selected some local attractions to experience the best of the region.
Morning departure from your local pickup point, we make our way to Weston-Super-Mare arriving mid afternoon.
We begin the day in Wells, a charming little West Country city with a magnificent cathedral and an ancient Bishop's Palace. In the afternoon we take a short drive to Glastonbury Abbey where we have a guided tour. Since Medieval times, the abbey has held legendary status as the earliest Christian foundation in Britain and our guide will be sharing fascinating stories of the abbey and its rich history.
A free day to settle into your new surroundings. The hotel is excellently situated just a 10 minute walk from the town centre and only a few minutes stroll to the seafront.
Morning visit to Tyntesfield, a spectacular Victorian Gothic Revival house with gardens and parkland. Discover how the Gibbs family bought Tyntes Place and transformed it into the Victorian Gothic masterpiece that exists today. Highlights include The Library, displaying thousands of books and The Hall which was originally designed to create a sense of awe and Gothic grandeur.
After breakfast, rejoin the coach for the return journey home.
