Our new tour is based in the harbour city of Plymouth. Known as Britain’s Ocean City, it is home to breath-taking views, with plenty to see and do and lots of fresh, sea air.
Morning departure from your local pickup point to Plymouth arriving late afternoon.
Free day in Plymouth. There are plenty of things to do in Plymouth; within walking distance from the hotel you can visit the UK’s largest aquarium, learn about Plymouth’s history at the Mayflower Museum or simply wander around the harbour.
We start the day in Tavistock, an ancient market town and home of the cream tea. In the afternoon we visit Buckland Abbey. Part house, part museum it is crammed with treasures. The Great Barn remains unchanged since it was built centuries ago and is not to be missed.
Today we travel through Devonshire countryside to Dartmouth. This ancient market town is steeped in history and makes an interesting day out at any time of the year. Stroll the narrow streets, with an array of interesting shops, boutiques and fine art galleries.
After a leisurely breakfast, rejoin the coach for the return journey home.
The price is based on two full fare paying passengers sharing a twin/double room. Child and infant prices only apply when sharing with two full fare paying passengers. Any bookings made online showing an incorrect price will be amended.
Set in the heart of Britain’s Ocean City, the Duke of Cornwall is a stunning period hotel brimming with character and style. Built as Plymouth’s first luxury hotel in 1863, the Duke has been lovingly preserved and enhanced so that its unique Victorian Gothic splendour can still be enjoyed by guests today.
