We begin the day at Chinnor where we board the vintage train to Princes Risborough for a relaxing journey through 4 miles of Oxfordshire countryside. After the return journey we continue onto Henley-on-Thames for the afternoon. This charming town has recently been voted one of the best places to live in Britain and with its riverside location and quirky shops, it is not difficult to see why!
Today is at leisure in Oxford. The ‘City of Dreaming Spires’ is crammed full of treasures. From museums and galleries to cobbled streets bursting with boutiques, you will be spoilt for choice with how to spend the day.
We check out of the hotel after breakfast and visit nearby Blenheim Palace. Step inside the Palace and explore the gilded State Rooms filled with priceless collections set against the beauty and magnificence of this Grade I listed building. Step outside and discover the unique history of the formal gardens, get lost in the maze and explore the trails in the walled gardens.
