We stay in the attractive town of Bideford and include excursions to Ilfracombe and Barnstaple as well as a lovely stately home.
Morning departure from your local pickup point, we make our way to Devon with comfort stops.
We start the day at RHS Rosemoor. Set in a beautiful valley, the gardens are a feast for the senses! Experience a blaze of reds, oranges and yellows in our Hot Garden with swathes of vibrant plants or unwind in the soothing pastels and blues of our Cool Garden, a tranquil oasis with a teardrop-shaped pond. In the afternoon we have time at leisure in Bideford.
Morning visit Barnstaple for some time at leisure. Its then a short drive to Arlington Court & Carriage Museum. Arlington Court is an unexpected jewel on the edge of Exmoor, a complete family estate held by the Chichester family for over five hundred years. The collection consists of treasures for all tastes, from model ships to shells, collected over several generations. The house itself, built in 1823 and extended in 1860, has an austere facade. However, the interior with its cosy rooms provides a homely, family atmosphere. The Carriage Museum in the stables has a vehicle for every occasion from cradle to grave.
After breakfast we check out of the hotel and make our return journey home.
