Join us on our new tour to Carmarthenshire in the heart of South West Wales. Discover a beautiful county of great contrasts. At every turn, you’ll be surprised to encounter such different landscapes, from breath-taking mountains to vast golden beaches, peaceful green valleys as well as bustling market towns.

Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup point, we make our way to Carmarthen with comfort stops en route.

Day 2

Full day in Tenby. Tenby is probably the most iconic and well-visited seaside town in Wales. Steeped in ancient history and surrounded by an imposing medieval stone wall. Discover a maze of narrow little streets, quirky shops, a beautiful beach and boat trips.

Day 3

Morning visit to Pembroke Castle, the birthplace of Henry VII. The enormous oval castle is mostly surrounded by a serene mill pond. See the impressive central keep, historical displays in the gatehouse rooms and explore the wall walks with fabulous views. In the afternoon we return to Carmarthen for free time. 

Day 4

We make a short journey to Bronwydd where we board the Gwili Railway. Sit back and relax as we enjoy an eight-mile round trip through beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside on-board the restored 1950s train. We return to Carmarthen for the afternoon.

Day 5

After a leisurely breakfast, we make our way home. 

Ivy Bush Royal

The hotel is situated in Carmarthen, reputed to be the birthplace of the legendary wizard Merlin and has the distinction of being Wales’ oldest town. All 70 en-suite bedrooms have been completely refurbished to a high standard and include TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
