Edinburgh Tattoo

The Tattoo is an iconic Edinburgh institution, and a sell-out year after year. Music, dance and precision display with the Massed Pipes and Drums, the Massed Military Bands, cultural troupes, singers and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup point to Perth. We arrive at the hotel late afternoon with the evening at leisure.

Day 2

We begin the day in Dundee. One of Scotland's seven cities, Dundee has acquired a few names over the years - 'one city, many discoveries', 'jute, jam and journalism', and, very recently, a 'UNESCO City of Design'. Shop 'til you drop as you browse through the latest styles in high street stores in the Overgate Shopping Centre and along High Street, or wander along Perth Road and find contemporary art galleries and quirky gift shops. We return to the hotel for an early evening meal before making our way to Edinburgh. Take your seat on the Esplanade inside the Castle grounds and watch performances of the Massed Pipes and Drums and the Massed Military Bands that emerge from the huge castle gates, playing the inspiring battle tunes of Scotland's famed regiments.

Day 3

Day at leisure in Perth. The hotel is situated in central Perth, ideally placed for perusing the stylish shopping centre, array of outstanding art galleries and museums or perhaps a gentle stroll along the River Tay.

Day 4

After a leisurely breakfast we check out of the hotel and make our return journey home.

Salutation Hotel

The Salutation Hotel is situated in the heart of the historic City of Perth. Reported to be the Oldest established hotel in Scotland, the Salutation has been welcoming guests through its doors since 1699. Today, the welcome is as warm as it ever was offering traditional hospitality with all modern comforts. Due to the age and nature of this grand old building all bedrooms are individual in size and shape but all have as standard – en-suite bathrooms, television, hairdryer, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift but there are some internal steps.
